Vocational Education & Training (VET) for Secondary Students (VDSS)
AGA’s Vocational Education & Training for Secondary Students (VDSS) programs give students the opportunity to start building real‑world skills while completing their secondary education. Our VDSS courses are designed to support students exploring career pathways in trades and industry, while contributing toward the Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE), including the VCE Vocational Major (VM).
Through hands‑on training and industry‑aligned delivery, students gain practical experience that prepares them for further study, pre‑apprenticeship courses, or entry‑level employment.
Clear Pathways from School to Career
VDSS courses are designed to help students transition confidently from school into further training and employment. Our programs introduce students to industry early, creating a clear pathway after school whether that is a pre‑apprenticeship, an apprenticeship, or an entry level job.
Depending on the course, students may complete a mix of on‑the‑job learning, training at AGA’s specialist training facilities or their school campus, and structured assessments aligned to industry standards.
Trades and Industries
AGA delivers a range of pre‑apprenticeship courses and trade‑focused VDSS programs that support students interested in pathways such as:
These programs are ideal for students considering an apprenticeship after school, providing foundational skills, safety knowledge and exposure to real trade environments.
Multi‑Industry Pathway Program
For students who are still exploring their options, AGA also offers a Multi‑Industry Pathway Program. This program allows students to experience a range of industries before committing to a specific trade or training pathway, helping them make informed decisions about their future.
Future Trade Pathways Program
For students interested in exploring a career in the trades, AGA offers the Future Trade Pathways program. Students gain hands-on experience across carpentry, plumbing and electrical trades while building a small-scale house, earning a White Card and exploring Certificate II pathways into apprenticeships.
