Essendon District Football Players are set to kick their careers into high gear, thanks to a partnership with AGA Essendon District Football League (EDFL).
With a shared vision of nurturing local talent and fostering career pathways, AGA and the EDFL have teamed up again to create a dynamic and supportive environment for athletes across the Juniors, Men’s, and Women’s teams. This partnership not only enhances their athletic skills but also provides them with the tools and knowledge to build successful careers on and off the field.
AGA CEO Nicolas West shared how this partnership allows AGA, an Apprentice Employment Service (AES), to speak directly to local athletes and raise awareness about apprenticeships and job opportunities that can help build successful careers.
“We are thrilled to be a part of such a vibrant, community-driven organisation and to support young athletes in our local area.”
“The partnership with EDFL aligns with our mission to offer career opportunities to the next generation, and we’re excited to be engaging with players throughout the season to inspire them to consider becoming apprentices,” Mr West said.
Throughout the year, AGA will work closely with the EDFL to share inspiring stories of players who are balancing their athletic pursuits with apprenticeships. These stories will highlight the successful integration of sport and career development, demonstrating that it is possible to excel in both areas.
AGA will also participate in various events, including planned tours of the AGA Deer Park training facility, where players can gain firsthand insights into the world of apprenticeships. These tours will provide a unique opportunity for young athletes to explore potential career paths and connect with employers.
EDFL CEO Andrew Johnston “The ongoing partnership between AGA and the EDFL is a great example of two likeminded organisations working together to promote training and development opportunities for young men and women to grow off the field while still participating at a local level at our clubs.”
“We believe that combining athletic development with career progression creates well-rounded individuals, and we’re proud to be helping young players explore their professional paths,” Mr West said. “We look forward to another successful year of partnership with the EDFL and to making a positive impact on the players and their future careers.”
