UEE20225 Certificate II in Electrotechnology (Career Start)

This foundational course is your gateway to a rewarding career in the electrical trade industry, providing the perfect stepping stone for those eager to pursue an electrical apprenticeship.

By covering essential topics such as electrical theory fundamentals, safety protocols and best practices, industry regulations and compliance and hands-on practical skills training – you’ll gain the knowledge and confidence needed to succeed in your future career as an electrician.

As a pre-apprenticeship program, this qualification is specifically designed to prepare students for an apprenticeship pathway and enhance their readiness for employment within the construction industry.

Upon completion, you’ll have the confidence, practical experience and industry-recognised training needed to pursue apprenticeship opportunities and begin your journey as a skilled tradesperson

The Certificate II in Electrotechnology (Career Start) gives possible career outcomes of:
  • Apprenticeship in Electrotechnology
The outcome of the Certificate II in electrotechnology does not meet the requirements for a licensed electrician. This course is designed specifically for those from a range of age groups and backgrounds interested in obtaining employment as an electrical apprentice.

The course is delivered through
  • A combination of three days in-class study and approximately eight hours of individual study, over 16 weeks.
  • We have multiple intakes throughout the year and offer a comprehensive understanding of the electrotechnology industry through hands-on experience to facilitate progression into an apprentice position.
Course details may change according to industry and regulatory standards. You’ll have access to our online Learning Management System to access training and theory assessment content and are required to have access to a laptop. Assessments are completed with a combination of written questions and practical tasks.
  • You must be 18 years of age or above at the time of application or have parent/guardian permission to enrol. Separation from secondary school evidence may be required.
  • Students under the age of 17 require documented permission from Secondary School administration.
  • Have suitable language, literacy and numeracy skills to read and comprehend learning materials and perform assessment tasks.
  • Students are required to successfully complete a Pre-Training Review to establish suitability and appropriateness for the program.
  • Have sound computer skills to navigate simple software to complete assessment activities with AGA online learning management system.
A student must have access to:
  • A laptop or computer
  • Reliable internet access
  • A valid email address
  • Basic digital skills to access online learning resources
AGA Provides a range of support services to assist students throughout their training, including Language, Literacy and Numeracy(LLN) support, digital literacy assistance, reasonable adjustments and general student support services.
  • Students obtaining a ‘Competent’ result for all units studied will be issued a ‘Certificate’ – UEE20225 Certificate II in Electrotechnology (Career Start) by AGA.
  • Should a student not complete the full qualification, a ‘Statement of Attainment’ will be issued for the units which the student is deemed ‘Competent’.
