This certificate program is your first step towards a rewarding career in the plumbing industry. Designed specifically as a foundational program for aspiring apprentices, it equips you with the skills and knowledge needed to excel in a plumbing apprenticeship.

The comprehensive curriculum covers essential skills such a mastering hand and power tools, measurements and calculations, welding techniques and working with plumbing pipes and fixtures.

As a pre-apprenticeship program, this qualification is specifically designed to prepare students for an apprenticeship pathway and enhance their readiness for employment within the construction industry.

Upon completion, you’ll have the confidence, practical experience and industry-recognised training needed to pursue apprenticeship opportunities and begin your journey as a skilled tradesperson.

Delivered through a blended approach, you’ll have
  • Four days of in-class learning and approximately eight hours of individual study per week over 13 weeks
  • Practical training and assessment by qualified trainers
  • Multiple intakes are available throughout the year
Course details may change according to industry and regulatory standards. Students have access to our online Learning Management System to access training and theory assessment content and are required to have their own access to a laptop. Assessments are completed with a combination of written questions and practical tasks

Our state-of-the-art training facility in Deer Park has all the required tools and equipment for assessment activity to take place on site.

  • Students obtaining a ‘Competent’ result for all units studied will be issued a ‘Certificate’ – 22701VIC Certificate II in Plumbing (Pre-apprenticeship) by AGA.
  • Should a student not complete the full qualification, a ‘Statement of Attainment’ will be issued for the units which the student is deemed ‘Competent’.
  • Deer Park Campus
  • Completing a Certificate II in Plumbing (Pre-apprenticeship) provides graduates with the skills and knowledge to commence a plumbing apprenticeship Certificate III in Plumbing (CPC32420). The Certificate II in Plumbing (Pre-apprenticeship) does not meet the requirements to become a registered plumber.
