CHC30221 - Certificate III in School Based Education Support

Working in Education Support involves providing vital assistance and support to students with diverse learning needs, including those with disabilities, in primary, secondary and special education schools. Education Support Workers, such as teacher assistants or teacher aides, work closely with teachers to create inclusive and effective learning environments. Their responsibilities include classroom support, behaviour management, record-keeping, ensuring student safety and providing emotional support.

Traineeship - Workplace Based & Online / Block Release
CHC30221 - Certificate III in School Based Education Support is comprised of 15 units – 10 core units and five elective units. Core Units:

This course is delivered as a traineeship and requires employment. You must attend block release schooling in the school holidays, for 10 days per term, throughout the duration of your studies. This  qualification is completed in an average of one year (four terms of block release study per year). Contact our team for assistance in connecting with an employer. You’ll have access to our online Learning  Management System to access training and theory assessment content and are required to have access to a laptop. Assessments are completed with a combination of written questions, practical assessments, role plays and observations in the workplace by a dedicated trainer and assessor.
  • You must be 18 years of age or above at the time of application or have parent/guardian permission to enrol. Separation from secondary school evidence may be required.
  • Prior to enrolment or commencement of training you’ll be required to complete a literacy and numeracy assessment and a pre-training review to determine your suitability to the course, verify your training plan, and identify any learning support needs.
  • Students obtaining a competent result for all units studied will be issued a qualification. Should a student not complete the full qualification, a statement of attainment will be issued for the units which the student is deemed competent.
  • If you withdraw, you’ll receive a Statement of Attainment for the units you’ve successfully completed.
To facilitate structured face-to-face delivery away from the student’s workplace, we deliver training at our main campus in Deer Park.
