UEE22020 Certificate II in Electrotechnology (Career Start)

This course is a foundational program aimed at preparing you for entry into the electrical trade industry and serves as a stepping stone for those interested in pursuing an electrical Apprenticeship. It covers essential topics such as electrical theory, safety, regulations and practical skills training.

Core Units:
  • CPCCWHS1001 Prepare to work safely in the construction industry
  • UEECD0007 Apply work health and safety regulations, codes and practices in the workplace
  • UEERE0021 Provide basic sustainable energy solutions for energy reduction in residential premises
  • UEECD0009 Carry out routine work activities in an energy sector environment
  • UEECD0052 Use routine equipment/plant/technologies in an energy sector environment
  • UEECD0038 Provide solutions and report on routine electrotechnology problems
  • UEECD0046 Solve problems in single path circuits
  • UEECD0021 Identify and select components, accessories and materials for energy sector work activities
Elective Units:
  • UEECD0019 Fabricate, assemble and dismantle utilities industry components

The outcome of the Certificate II in electrotechnology does not meet the requirements for a licensed electrician. This course is designed specifically for those from a range of age groups and backgrounds interested in obtaining employment as an electrical apprentice.
This program runs for 16 weeks - three days per week, excluding school and public holidays.

  • Delivered through a blended approach, you’ll have three days of in-class study (approximately eight hours of individual study per week over 16 weeks), practical training and assessment by qualified trainers.
  • Students have access to our online Learning Management System to access training and theory assessment content.
  • Assessments are completed with a combination of written questions and practical tasks.
  • Have suitable language, literacy and numeracy skills to read and comprehend learning materials and perform assessment tasks.
  • Students are required to successfully complete a Pre-Training Review to establish suitability and appropriateness for the program.
  • Have sound computer skills to navigate simple software to complete assessment activities with AGA online learning management system.
  • Have access to a laptop or computer to bring to training sessions.
  • Students under the age of 17 require documented permission from Secondary School administration.
  • Students obtaining a ‘Competent’ result for all units studied will be issued a ‘Certificate’ – UEE22020 Certificate II in Electrotechnology (Career Start) by AGA.
  • Should a student not complete the full qualification, a ‘Statement of Attainment’ will be issued for the units which the student is deemed ‘Competent’.
